

Nisha is committed to living her path as an embodied spirit, blending both eastern and western practices into one. She is a Body-Mind Centering® Teacher and an Infant Developmental Movement Educator from the School Of Body-Mind Centering®. Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, her primary teacher, has been instrumental in her reawakening of cellular consciousness, touch and movement. Nisha is a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst. Born in India, she has a deep curiosity about her roots and ancient Indian practices. She is a long time yoga student and teacher and has been studying Iyengar yoga with Genny Kapuler since 2001. Also a student of Buddhist practices, Nisha has studied with Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche for over 20 years. Nisha was called to learn Ayurvedic Medicine with Dr. Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. Her love for touch led her to earn a license in Massage Therapy from The Swedish Institute of NewYork City. Her desire for depth and subtlety drew her to train in Biodynamic Cranio-Sacral Therapy with Michael Dunning. Embryology continues to be a source and devoted study that she blends into movement, touch and meditation. Nisha has taught at the BMC® Licensed Program’s in Italy and Montreal and the Infant Developmental Education Classes at The Breathing Project. She has taught high school students at Marymount High School of New York City. Nisha maintains a private practice in NYC where she resides.
